Analysis of Reasons for High Oil Consumption of Air Compressor (1)

Air compressors often encounter oil leakage problems during daily use. What causes air compressor leakage oil?

1. The design of oil and gas separation tank is not standardized

Some air compressor manufacturers, when designing oil and gas separation tanks, have an unreasonable primary separation system design, and the primary separation effect is not ideal. This leads to a high concentration of oil mist before the oil feed, which makes the oil load too heavy, and the oil and gas separation tank processing capacity is insufficient, resulting in high oil consumption.

2. Overfilled

The amount of fuel refueled exceeds the normal oil level, and some of the oil is carried away with the air flow, resulting in excessive fuel consumption.

3. Excessive air usage, used under overload and low pressure conditions

Used under overload and low pressure conditions means that when the user uses the air compressor, the discharge pressure does not reach the rated working pressure of the air compressor itself. However, it can basically meet the gas requirements of certain enterprise users. For example, business users have increased the use of gas equipment, and the amount of air used has increased, making it impossible for air compressor displacement and user's air consumption to reach a balance. Assume that the compressor's rated discharge pressure is 8kg/cm3, but the actual pressure is only 5kg/cm3 or even lower. In this case, the air compressor is in a state of load operation for a long period of time and cannot reach the rated pressure of the machine, resulting in an increase in fuel consumption. The reason is that under the condition that the exhaust air volume is not changed, the flow rate of the oil-air mixture passing through the oil separator is accelerated, and the concentration of the oil mist is too high, which increases the oil separator load and eventually leads to a large fuel consumption.

4. Blockage of return line

When the return line (including single way valve and return oil filter net on return tubing) is blocked by foreign matter , the engine oil condensed at the bottom of the oil after separation cannot be returned to the nose, and the condensed oil droplets will be blown by the airflow again,with the separated air is carried away together. These foreign objects are usually caused by solid impurities falling off during installation.
