Air Compressor Selection Steps

1. Determine the working pressure

 When selecting the air compressor, first determine the working pressure required for the air end, plus the allowance of 1-2 bar, then select the pressure of the air compressor. Of course, the size of the pipeline and the number of turning points. It is also a factor affecting the pressure loss. The larger the pipe diameter and the smaller the turning point, the smaller the pressure loss; otherwise, the pressure loss is greater.

 Therefore, when the distance between the air compressor and each air end line is too far, the diameter of the main line should be properly enlarged. If the environmental conditions meet the installation requirements of the air compressor and the working conditions permit, it can be installed near the air end.

 

2. Determine the corresponding volume flow

 a. When selecting the air compressor, first understand the volume flow of all the gas equipment, and multiply the total flow rate by 1.2;

b. The air compressor is selected according to the volume flow parameter of the gas equipment provided by the gas equipment supplier;

c. Air compressor station reconstruction can be selected with reference to the original parameter value combined with the actual gas usage.

 

3. Determine the power supply capacity

 When the power is constant, when the speed changes, the volume flow and the working pressure also change accordingly, the speed decreases, the exhaust decreases accordingly, and so on.

For the air compressor selection power, the power supply capacity can meet the power consumption of the matched drive motor under the conditions of working pressure and volume flow.
